Privacy policy
Gulf Machinery Exchange LLC ("GME", "we") operates app.gulfmachineryexchange.com and the GME mobile app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Effective November 3, 2026.
What we collect
- Account details you give us: name, email address, company, phone, city, and account type. If you sign in with Google or Microsoft, we receive your name and verified email address from that provider; we never see your password there.
- Listings and deal records: machine photos, descriptions, serial numbers, prices, bids, offers, messages between buyer and seller, escrow and transport status, and claims.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and pages visited, used for security, fraud prevention and to keep the service running. We set a sign-in cookie and, for the installable app, store pages and photos on your device for offline use.
- Payments: card payments for fees are processed by Stripe; GME does not store card numbers. Escrow transfers are handled through our bank; we keep records of amounts and dates.
How we use it
- To run the marketplace: show listings, take bids and offers, match saved searches, and close deals.
- To identify machines and estimate value from the photos you upload. Photos are processed by an AI service (Anthropic) solely to produce the report for your listing.
- To keep buyers and sellers anonymous until both commit. Your name and contact details are shown to the other party only after both sides commit to a deal, and to the carrier you book for transport.
- To send service notices: outbid alerts, auction results, deal updates, transport quotes and claims. Marketing emails are sent only if you ask for them, and every one has an unsubscribe link.
- To prevent fraud, resolve disputes under the As-Described Guarantee, and meet legal and tax obligations.
Sharing
We share data only with service providers that help us run GME (hosting, email delivery, payment processing, AI identification, transport carriers you choose), with the other party to a committed deal, and when required by law. We do not sell personal information.
Retention and your choices
Deal records are kept as long as needed for guarantees, disputes and tax law, typically seven years. You can update your profile on the Account page, delete listings you own, and ask us to delete your account by emailing info@gulfmachineryexchange.com; we will remove what we are not legally required to keep. You may decline cookies in your browser, but you will not be able to stay signed in.
Children
GME is a business-to-business service for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
